| Roy Durrell Gillespie was born January 23, 1924; he died April 9, 2002. Roy was the youngest child (of 12) of James O. and Minnie L. Gillespie, who lived in Vardaman. After a Sunday 'All-Day-Singin' at Rocky Mount Baptist Church in the Reid community, Roy eloped with his childhood sweetheart, Geraldine McGreger, and they married on May 2, 1943 in Houston, Mississippi. 'Gerri' is the youngest child of Mr. Doc Clark and Mrs. Mattie Clay McGreger, formerly of the Reid Community near Vardaman. They have four children: Kenneth Roy, Myra Lee, Stephen Clark, and Judy Carroll Gillespie  Kenny, Myra, & Steve (~1955)  Judy, Steve, Myra, & Kenny (~1990) | ||
